IOM Thailand’s Migration Data and Research Unit (MDRU) supports a variety of thematic research initiatives based on demands from internal and external stakeholders. In 2022, a series of COVID-19 perception surveys were conducted to understand access and barriers to vaccination for migrants in Thailand. In 2023, the unit is supporting research on migration under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) labour migration channel as well as a study on the perception of migrants among the Thai public.
