IOM Thailand conducts different activities to assess mobility dynamics along Thailand’s border with neighbouring countries. Its flow monitoring activities currently encompass points of entry along the borders with Myanmar, Lao People’s Democratic Republic and Cambodia. The resulting information provides insights into migration routes, reasons for movement and intended lengths of stay. Meanwhile, IOM’s mobility tracking assessments look at the presence of non-Thai nationals in border districts along the Thailand-Myanmar border and capture preliminary insights into their conditions, including access to health, education and work.
