การเสริมสร้างทัศนคติเชิงบวกของสังคมต่อผู้โยกย้ายถิ่นฐานนั้นจำเป็นต้องอาศัยความร่วมมือร่วมใจกัน โดยปัจจุบัน การโยกย้ายถิ่นฐานมีบทบาทที่สำคัญเป็นอย่างยิ่งต่อการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและสังคมไทย ดังนั้น มีความจำเป็นที่จะต้องสร้างทัศนคติที่ถูกต้องในเรื่องดังกล่าว ที่ผ่านมา แม้ว่าการโยกย้ายถิ่นฐานจะกลายเป็นประเด็นในหน้าสื่ออยู่บ่อยครั้ง แต่เครื่องมือที่จะช่วยให้สื่อมวลชนสามารถรายงานประเด็นปัญหาดังกล่าวได้อย่างครอบคลุมและแม่นยำนั้นกลับยังมีไม่เพียงพอ

ภายใต้วิสัยทัศน์ในการส่งเสริมวาทกรรมเกี่ยวกับการโยกย้ายถิ่นฐานผ่านหลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์และการรายงานข่าวของสื่อมวลชนในประเทศไทย รัฐบาลไทย ไอโอเอ็ม และ Social Lab – Migration in Media (ความริเริ่มระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย และมหาวิทยาลัยฮันยาง) ได้ร่วมกันจัดการฝึกอบรมเรื่องการรายงานข่าวเกี่ยวกับการโยกย้ายถิ่นฐานสำหรับสื่อมวลชนและนักศึกษา

การฝึกอบรมในครั้งนี้มุ่งหวังที่จะเสริมสร้างขีดความสามารถของสื่อมวลชนและนักศึกษาไทยในการรายงานข่าวที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการโยกย้ายถิ่นฐานและจัดการกับข้อมูลเท็จและอคติในสังคม เพิ่มพูนความรู้และทักษะให้กับสื่อมวลชนในการรายงานข่าวประเด็นดังกล่าวให้มีความถูกต้อง เป็นกลาง และอยู่บนพื้นฐานของข้อเท็จจริงมากขึ้น

ผู้เข้ารับการฝึกอบรมจะมีโอกาสได้ลงพื้นที่จังหวัดสมุทรสาครเพื่อทำความเข้าใจประเด็นปัญหาเกี่ยวกับการโยกย้ายถิ่นฐาน ทำความรู้จักกับชุมชน และสัมภาษณ์ผู้โยกย้ายถิ่นฐาน

วิธีการสมัครเข้ารับการฝึกอบรม

สื่อมวลชนและนักศึกษาจากทุกแขนงสามารถสมัครเข้าร่วมการฝึกอบรมที่จะจัดขึ้นในกรุงเทพมหานคร ระหว่างวันที่ 11 – 13 ตุลาคม 2567 ได้ที่ลิงก์ด้านล่าง การฝึกอบรมจะจัดขึ้นในรูปแบบไฮบริด

Training on Migration Reporting

ABOUT THE TRAINING

Shaping the public narrative around migrants requires collaborative efforts. With migration being a significant component of the social and economic fabric of Thailand, there is a growing need for a well-informed discourse on the matter. While migration is at the heart of public narrative in Thailand, there are limited resources available for media professionals in Thailand to report on such issues with stronger accuracy and depth.

With the vision to promote evidence-based migration discourse and media reporting in Thailand, the Royal Thai Government, IOM and Social Lab – Migration in Media (a joint initiative by the Mahidol University, Hanyang University and Chulalongkorn University) is organizing a two-day Training on Migration Reporting for journalists and students.

The training aims to support Thai media professionals and students in strengthening the coverage of migration issues and counter misinformation and negative stereotypes to enhanced understanding and capacity of the media to report on migration issues in a more accurate, balanced and evidence-based manner. To further amplify the learning experience, the training will also include a field visit to Samut Sakhon province to help participants gain direct exposure to migration issues, facilitate conversation with migrant communities and develop their abilities to interview migrants. 

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE TRAINING?

Journalists and students from all backgrounds are welcome to apply for the media training in Bangkok, taking place from 11-13 October 2024. The training in Bangkok will be facilitated in hybrid mode.
